Tipsy Times: Texas Martini

We didn’t plan on posting anything this weekend because we were going to go camping and check out some hot springs…but Alex was un-athletic and broke his ankle.  So now we’ve just been having a lazy long weekend at home.  What’s everyone else up to this weekend?

Alex is from Austin and I love going back there with him to visit. It’s a super fun place and obviously you can get great Tex-Mex there. It was in Austin where I discovered one of my favorite cocktails: The Texas Martini. It’s pretty much just a spicy margarita.  It’s super refreshing and has a nice kick to it 😉

    Texas Martini

    Makes 1 cocktail

    INGREDIENTS:
    1 lime
    Margarita Salt
    1 Jalapeno sliced
2-3 shots Tequila (depending on how strong you like yours)
    1 shot Grand Marnier
    2 shots Orange Juice
Rub the rim of a martini glass with lime and press the glass into the margarita salt. Make sure the rim is fully coated with salt.

Fill a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice. Add 1-2 slices of jalapeño (depending on how spicy you like it), tequila, Grand Marnier, and orange juice.  Shake until cold and serve immediately. Garnish with sliced jalapeño and olives.

    Cheers!
